from the legend you've heard of
in your childhood.
who had found the perfect pearl,
the queen of all pearls.
i drank in the sight
to my heart's content
and then threw it back
overboard
in the high seas.
for i couldn't hold it
any longer, it was far too perfect
to be placed in any ring
or adorn any maiden's diadem.
and i would have no reason
to dive any more
for there would be nothing more
to dive for.
so now, i keep diving
to find that perfect pearl again!

Lovely!
And if you do find it again will you throw it back again?
for i couldn't hold it
any longer, it was far too perfect
to be placed in any ring
or adorn any maiden's diadem.
These lines strike a chord somewhere.
does this mean you love the thrill of "diving to discover" as much as you love the "perfect pearl"? the reason i ask if because another alternative could have been to stop diving altogether and remain in complete harmony with the "perfect pearl". although, as i type, the answer comes to me softly.
to remain truly alive, we need the impetus to keep going back to the source of our inspiration. am i right?
@ manasi : you got it! :)
but its so true, isn't it?
@ cuckoo : hey! thanks for dropping in!
profound. the search for perfection continues...

so now, i keep diving
to find that perfect pearl again!
